Nature and Family Relationships

My relationship with my sister is like a blooming flower
We were not always close, but now our relationship is blooming and blosoming
The petals of the flower open like how she is starting to open up to me and share more with me
Flowers get more and more beautiful as they grow just like our relationship gets better and better as it grows
A yellow flower symbolizes friendship and new relationships
Bright colors mean a bright future
Flowers open up and grow closer to the sun; our relationship is opening up and moving towards the future

  1. Hayley - I personally like when you say "The petals of the flower open like how she is starting to open up to me and share more with me". It is true that petals are like the heart of a person. At first, you are more reserved and when you grow older, you feel the need to express and to feel reassured by someone else, similar to you and your sister when you would open up to each other. I like our observations! :)

  2. May your relationship continue to blossom! It can be really great to get to know siblings in a different way than we do in childhood. Like Christine, I like the image of the opening petals representing the way we slowly open up to people we love and trust.

  3. I really like how you related your sister to any flower. It could be any color, on a sunny or cloudy day but the flower still opens up to the sky. I like the very simple comparison, "Bright colors mean a bright future" because it is just so true. When there is a bright beginning and an open flower there is so much potential for it to grow. This is just like a person because sometimes it is difficult to open up and trust people enough to talk about personal things, but when you start off in the right direction it can only lead to a bright future. Great comparisons!

  4. I like your thoughts. I never really thought of flowers as much of a metaphor for anything, even though I garden for a living. To me, a flower is "planting, pruning, deadheading, weeding..."
You paint an effective metaphor, I get a sense of your relationship with your sister from what you said. I'll look at flowers in a new way from now on, thanks!
